Sasha's "Last Night on Earth"

As I flipped through my Facebook, I noticed that front and centre was this major announcement that I somehow missed. For Shame! So for those of you who didn't already know, Sasha has launched a brand new label called "Last Night on Earth". The Facebook page tells the whole story much better than I could so here it is:

"Last Night On Earth’ is Sasha’s home for supporting exciting new electronic music talent and his new solo productions. The first release, Sasha 'Cut Me Down' was released 22nd August and include a Layo & Bushwaka! Remix. Now available is a limited edition 12” vinyl pressing. This will be the perfect opportunity to collect these stunning releases, not just for the music, but for the visually rich artwork specially designed by Cure Studios’ James Hurst and illustrated by Susie Wright. A word from Cure Studios:

“We set out to craft a mark that underlined the progressive nature of Sasha’s work while appealing to traditional dance music aficionados in a very visually rich area of graphic design. Our solution built around an abstracted earth icon spun out of control is coupled with a bold type treatment. After compositing an enormous landscape (anyone visiting the studio can vouch for the daunting skyline we had up for a month!) we developed an iconic skyline around key cities close to Sasha’s heart.”

To reward the vinyl collectors, the landscape will run across the next releases to form an incredibly visually rich collection when shown next to each other!"

And there you have it. So start collecting you vinyl junkies! If "Cut Me Down" is the first release, and definitely my favourite original track of the year, then I can't wait to see what else Sasha has in his little black box.
